I’m sure there will. But I did not order…normally takes a few attempts to get a good fit. I’m not sure they have had a fuselage to scan with their 3-D machine yet.

Flying the Diablo today from our local grass patch. 120m in length…does not need that much!

I have ordered also a Diablo this week and would like to prepare a few things before it arrives…
Could someone of you measure the free space for the main tank please
I would like to install a 4,0 liter fuel Bag instead of the solid Tank and hopper…
thanks in advance

Few more details. Balance is 408mm back with hopper tank full and just a little fuel in the main tank (rear sump) I used the only accurate method to check balance!

Marius as his ailerons set with more up than down…which does not work for me with just ailerons (tailerons only come on with vector) I have 22mm up and 23.5mm down measured at the tip aileron. Ailerons are powerful, but not twitchy.

Dave is it possible that you could measure the distance between the turbine rails and post, I want to make sure of turbine fit.

Thanks,
Robert

I was working in the US when you posted, but back now. You really don’t want to fit a larger turbine than a JetCat 220 in the Diablo, it neither requires the thrust and won’t handle the weight well. Length is also maxed at the 220 Rxi

Can someone please do me a favor and measure the width of the stabs when still attached to the fuselage? I am contemplating to order a Diablo as a smaller and easier to transport addition to my Mephisto, but would like it to fit in my van with the stabs mounted. Please let me know.

Myself and a friend are each ordering Diablos. I will be running thrust vectoring, he will be running the straight thrust tube. What is the largest turbine the straight pipe is safe to run? He's wanting to run a Swiwin190 on the straight pipe.

Website seems to say 140 to 160--

"Many have asked if the Diablo can also be flown with a regular non-vector pipe. Well, yes, we will offer an option for those as well. However, the diameter of the thrust tube will be smaller as it will be a dual walled pipe, which still needs to fit unter the taileron spar. No problems, as the engines should be limited to 140-160N in the non-vector application anyway."

It will be terrible with a 190, it is NOT a speed machine, inlets are huge and fuselage very light layup.
It will go unlimited vertical with a 160…accelerate from slow flight vertically.
If you make it heavy and ‘yank’ it will bite you, it’s designed as a 3-D aeroplane with vector, or light weight sports jet in the same vane as a Rebel 2m

I saw on the straight pipe when you click on it on the website it says 120-140, then I saw in this thread Dave recommends 140-160. I missed on the main Diablo page the quote you have above that says 140-160.

He's wanting to go with a 170-190, but it doesn't sound like the straight pipe can handle it? He really likes to take off and go straight up with the full fuel load, that's mostly what he's after, not speed, we know it's not a speed plane.

I guess you could go with the vector pipe and just fix it in place?

Thanks Dave I'll let him know about the 160 recommendation.

Another question, the vector servos are standard size? Physically?

Full of fuel with the straight pipe it should not weigh more than15.5kg…he can do that with a 160
A vector pipe adds a reasonable amount of weight

Two more Diablo kits for local people.
One vectored with a 220 and the other non vectored with a JetCat P-160Rxi-B
Both PB Core and MacGregor servos.
