.21 with full crank
I am looking for a .21-.28 sized engine with a full crank. I need the old style fully threaded crank. Not the ones setup for a collet and clutches.
Is there any of these out there? I have looked on flea bay but have not found one.
Thanks.

Look for older (think early 90s and back) marine engines. They often were converted airplane engines and ranged in displacement from .09 up to .32 that have longer cranks with a longer portion that's threaded. In reality, you could just use an airplane engine depending on what your exact purpose is.

I would like to re-create one of my planes from back in the day. I had an O.S. .21SE, header, tuned pipe in a 20 sized plane. I had the large fins turned down to about 30%. It was an absolute rocket. I was spinning an 8.5x6.5 prop at 23,500 rpm. Was a really good setup. Was wondering if they had any of the long crank .21 engines around.
If not, looks like I will go with a Rossi 21.

I have an OS .21 SE-M in an old Graupner Arrow mono hull boat. It runs decent, but is no powerhouse. My main beef with these OS engines is the poorly manufactured Nickel liners. If I had to choose between a Rossi and an OS, I'd take the Rossi every time. A far better engine. I will be swapping my OS out for a Novarossi when my hobby budget permits it. I would try this engine: http://www.novarossidirect.com/RPLUS213FT_p_3275.html

I see you understand what I am after.
I was looking at this one with header and pipe.

Yes, I would take Rossi and a few other brands over O.S. I was just after a memory. I still have the header and pipe from my old setup on the shelf.

Correct. it was the high RPM version of the O.S. 21 sized engines. It used the same case for the airplane, car, boat engines. it had different bearings, timing setup of a tuned pipe. I need to put a drive washer, spinner and prop nut on it.
Thank you for looking, I do appreciate the effort in helping.
The old O.S. .12SE engine had a crank that looked like this one.

In looking, I did found a Super Tigre .28 engine with a threaded crank, it looks like this one.

See how this engine has the threads on the end. I need a complete car engine like that.

I did find this one. It may work. I would like a side exhaust though.

Thank you for the help. If there is a complete engine like the one I posted that is side exhaust?

Your intended application is for an airplane, is it not? If so, why seek a car engine? Car engines with a fully threaded crankshafts are quite uncommon these days.

Damn, I posted yesterday and it is not here.
Any way. I just wanted to build one like i had in the day. The .25 airplane engines had no where near the power my .21 car motor made in a plane. I would have had to step up to a .45 or so to get that much power in it.
Just trying to relive a dream is all. If I can, I want to. If not, than it will be a Rossi. Either way, this plane is going to go ballistic

If money isn't as much of an object, you can have Dub Jett build you an engine. I think his smallest engine is a .25, but he can build it to the specs you supply. Dubjett.com The .35 is a .25 case engine and makes heaps of power. If you opt for the LX setup, it will have higher timing and run faster. You can get it with a tuned muffler that will get you within 500rpm of what a full pipe will do.
The only advantages that a car engine is going to have over an airplane engine is better breathing and higher timing.
